Live Action Event

Critical Factors in Emergency Evacuation

Witness a never-been-done-before event! As student transportation professionals, we know there are a number of factors that impact student evacuation from the school bus. Water and fire emergencies are two of the scariest situations because there could be as many as 60 children on board. The devastating incidents in Prestonsburg, KY, Alton, TX, and Carrollton, KY were significant events in our history as an industry, and in our nation as a whole. We learned a lot from these unfortunate events, but, not everything we need to know.

This year's NAPT conference program will feature a unique, life training event designed to better understand the effect a thermal event (fire in particular) has on evacuation times. During this live action event we'll use four school buses and real students to demonstrate three different real world, real life emergency situations. Experience this never-been-done-before event for yourself.
Mark your calendar: The Live Action Event, hosted by the Kansas City Fire Academy, is scheduled for Saturday, October 27. Transportation to the location will be provided.

The annual NAPT Conference & Trade Show is consistently recognized as the premier school transportation conference in the nation. Our goal is to inspire NAPT Conference Delegates to connect with one another; communicate best practices and tackle common challenges and collaborate on ways to advance the student transportation industry.
